Yesterday I was literally about to vomit when I saw this. And the problem is that she was standing so close and I couldn’t but keep staring at her.. I can’t see any point of doing this! It looks like shit and Im sure it hurts like hell when they first do it.. so why?
I’ve seen guys doing those as well … It’s a free country :)
they like the attention.and they want to look like a hippy
Oh my God! We have a lot of these things here, and its soooo scary!! men and women have them in different sizes, and You described the way I feel when I see them :s
I started seeing or noticing them right after the movie “Apocalypto”! I’m not sure if they’re related or not :s
Ewww … And you know, it is nothing compared to what some other people are willing to do :s
I didn’t see this movie! If it has such things, i’d rather watch something else :D haha
OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH!!! i hate those, i have no idea how do these people do it, i would never dare put another earring in my ear, not THAT!!! ya waradiiii
To each her own. Some people don’t wear any body jewelry, others wear too many. Who’s to say what’s right and what’s wrong in a matter of individual taste?
Not even god :)
i dont mind this.. have u seen ppl who ‘implant’ horns on their foreheads?? and implant metallic shapes under their skin, like this ‘being’over here –> http://www.apogeemag.com/interviews/images/forehead.gif
now this is gross!! blech!
Tololy.. ‘Not even God’!!!!?? No, that’s not true!
This is called ‘body modification’, it’s not as if your piercing your ear, etc .. they’re putting objects with different shapes and changing the way the body looks.
It’s a matter of individual taste when it’s acceptable. This is far away from something you’d be able to look at and accept.
It’s different when you see it closely.. don’t judge from the picture and think oh that’s cool! Plus, this is not jewelery..!
Well, I disagree, Dima. I believe each individual can do whatever they want to their bodies, and nobody has the right to interfere.
Piercings and tattoos are forms of body modification. What you see in this picture is called stretching. The person gradually increases the gauge of the jewelry inserted in the lobe and stretches the flesh as she goes by. It is a long and painful process to reach the look she desires. Stretching is still pretty common in tribal body modification.
I personally do not, and will not practice stretching. But I solemnly respect the choices of people who do, and I respect the way people see beauty differently. That’s all :)
well if you consider ’stretching’ pretty, then you might enjoy this site..
‘acceptable’ piercings and tattoos cannot be compared to this! I mean c’mmon! but anyway.. this was my opinion and I respect yours, but I would still say ‘ewww’ and Yuckie when seeing such things..
And Im insisting that saying ‘Not even God’ is definitely not true!
Hehe Dima. I know that site, I visit it frequently :P
The “not even god” comment was too cryptic. What I meant by it is that not even religious teachings prevent people from doing what they want, what they find pretty, to their bodies. Just think, some religions see tribesmen with heavy body modification as savages. But looking at the world today, people of all religious affiliations appreciate and practice body art.
I think such people are not happy with themselves as they are, and they do not respect the vessel that their soul inhabits. But I have had much surgery on this vessel, and so it would not occur to me to puncture it for fun. ;-)
we want to look different- .. they’re dying for attention. This is how I see it.
There is nothing wrong with body modification. I myself have stretched lobes, a lip piercing, and a lip tattoo. And as far as not likeing myself as I was thats not true. I stretced my ears because normal earrings did not show through my very thick hair and the tattoo was to remind me to always speak with wisdom. As for the lip piercing I just like it. Think of all the people who get plastic surgery because the don’t like themselves most people I know with mods did it because they are confident in themselves and wish to express themselves.
